The next evening I come home from work I now I see a Chevy Tahoe buried in the mud in my front yard by the boat. Now there are two vehicles stuck in my front yard. I recognized the Tahoe as belonging to my neighbor’s daughter. The boat belong to her brother. So I walked over there to see what was up. Turns out that when she got home, she saw the pickup by her brother’s boat and decided to see what the deal was. She then ended up sinking her Tahoe in the mud with it and could not get it out. So only manged to get half way to the boat before she sank. Fine. Gotta wait for things to dry out. She wasn’t happy. But she knew that she would have to wait. A couple of days later I was telling a friend of mine about the two trucks buried in mud in my front yard. He owned a surplus military 2.5 Ton 6-wheel drive troop carrier. Plus is has one hell of a hydraulic wench on it is powered by the motor. He said that he could get those out of there. So the next Saturday he drives the 2.5T truck over to my house. We quickly discover that the stuck vehicles are too far from the Im Fine Cute Cat shirt even for his wench cable. No problem, he tells me. This thing is 6 wheel drive, with duallys, and can go anywhere. So he starts to drive it across the meadow closer to the boat and vehicles.

The hidden triumph of the show, in my opinion, is its homage to real alchemy, and its not-so-subtle spiritual themes. Sure, in-universe alchemy doesn’t really resemble real alchemy. FMA’s Philosopher’s Stone is, at best, a perversion of the real deal (more on that in a moment). But the writer of the manga clearly did her research, because there are subtle references everywhere. For example, the real-life alchemist Paracelsus’ real name was Theophrastus Bombastus van Hohenheim. Ed and Al also share their names with famous occultists, Edward Kelly and Alphonse Constant (Eliphas Levi). But while Hohenheim’s name is an obvious reference, this one may just be a coincidence. It is probably no accident that Ed’s color scheme is black, white, and Im Fine Cute Cat shirt. The three main stages of alchemy are named the nigredo, the albedo, and the rubedo. Nigredo, the black stage, is when the matter of the Stone “dies” and putrefies, representing spiritual death. Albedo, the white stage, is when the matter of the Stone is washed, boiled, and turns to vapor, which condenses back into water, and the cycle repeats. This represents spiritual ascension and unification with the divine. Finally, during the rubedo, this “volatile” matter becomes “fixed,” crystallizing into the Philosopher’s Stone. Ed also has gold hair and eyes, which is fairly self-explanatory. Gold is a metaphor for the state of spiritual perfection.

Matt growled. Once Brian could catch his breath, he sighed. “You—You wanna know why we were laughing right?” Brian said. Alex chortled, holding back his laughter, letting out a couple of giggles. “Oh my god, Brian no—” Alex said, starting to cough from how hard he was laughing. Brian then started laughing again imagining Matt’s reaction. “That ‘girl’ you nearly kissed is-” Brian stopped and laughed harder. Matt looked at Brian, obviously angry. “Is what?!” The two boys laughed harder at Matt’s reaction. Clement finally came back and opened the car door confused. “Is… everything alright?” Clement asked. “Clem— Clement tell him!” Alex exclaimed. Clement stared at Alex confused for a few moments, then slowly realized what they were talking about. Realizing that, he let out a Im Fine Cute Cat shirt ‘oh.’ Matt continued to look back and forth between the two. “What?! Tell me what?!” He yelled in anger. Alex wheezed, hearing how angry Matt was. Brian then started coughing. “Um…” Clement started. “W-well… Um-” Matt started to become annoyed by the lack of answers he was getting. “Spit it out. Now.”

I especially miss my dad. He was the most wonderful dad in the world. We knew we were loved, cared for and supported by our parents. He knew how to do everything to make us kids happy. I am the eldest of three (3) siblings and he told me we all answered to him, so I was not responsible for my brothers’ bad behavior. He made sure we had the best kid life anyone could ask for. Our childhood was fun-filled, and my parents kept us safe and Im Fine Cute Cat shirt protected. My favorite family time [hands down], was when we went to Disneyland. We went to lots of other fun kid places too, plus I loved spending long days at Santa Monica Beach, shoveling sand into pails, gathering sea shells and splashing in the warm ocean water. Our summers were long, lazy and fun. We had nothing to do with our summer days but go to summer camp, swimming, go bike riding and have fun. We did not have a care in the world.
